THIRSTYGIRL
is a short film about addiction and sisterhood. It was written and directed by Alexandra Qin, starring Samantha Ahn and Claire Dunn. It is the proof-of-concept for the THIRSTYGIRL feature. It premiered at the 2023 Provincetown International Film Festival followed by the 2023 Palm Springs International Shortfest and was an Official Selection of Sundance 2024.

LOGLINE
On a road trip with her younger sister, Charlie struggles to hide a secret addiction.
SYNOPSIS
Charlie and Nic are headed somewhere. We’re not sure where. All we know is Charlie can’t stop sending nudes and watching porn on her phone. As the sisters go along their journey, Charlie’s need for sex intensifies and she resorts to more and more depraved behaviors to get her fix.
THIRSTYGIRL is an intimate film about sisterhood and addiction, following two Asian-American women traveling across the American South.
It is Alexandra Qin’s first film and the proof of concept for the THIRSTYGIRL feature.
ALEXANDRA QIN
Alexandra Qin is an award-winning screenwriter and director based in New York with a background in technology, social justice, and visual and performance art.
She was born and raised across Paris and Hong Kong to a half-French, half-Filipina mother and a Chinese father. She moved to the United States when she was 18 to study Computer Science at New York University.
After a 10+ year career as a software engineer and prison reform activist, Alexandra started writing her first feature screenplay, THIRSTYGIRL, in 2020. Since then, she has been the 2022 Page Awards Grand Prize Winner and a 2022 Nicholl Fellowship Semifinalist. Her first short film, the THIRSTYGIRL proof-of-concept, was selected for Sundance 2024, among many other festivals.
